The Seguin Trail early fall with yellow and green leaves

Join us at Edgington Station for a one-of-a-kind experience rooted in creativity, sustainability, and local heritage. Our new Re-Creators Experience invites you to step into a slower rhythm—walking the historic rail line, working with natural and salvaged materials, and crafting a timeless object with your own hands.  A delicious light snack of local cheese, meats, crackers, and baked goods rounds out this perfect afternoon in the village.

This immersive experience is more than just a workshop; it’s a tactile journey through the cultural and environmental history of our region. You'll learn to work with traditional tools and repurposed materials, building practical skills and meaningful memories. Set against the rustic charm of our heritage village and grounded in values of reuse, community, and connection to place, the Re-Creators Experience is a powerful invitation to “make do beautifully.”

Created and hosted by three sisters with a shared passion for upcycling and storytelling, the workshop blends craftsmanship, history, and outdoor activity.  We believe this experience will appeal to creative explorers, small groups, and solo travelers alike.

Whether you leave with a beautifully made wood project, a new appreciation for heritage practices in an Ontario village, or simply a deeper connection to the land beneath your feet, we’re certain you’ll take away more than you arrived with.

Our tour of the village involves light hiking on uneven terrain, which may not be suitable for everyone. Please reach out to us before registering if you have specific questions or if you would like more information about the activity level.

We’ll be outdoors and active for the workshop, so please come prepared for the weather - and for blackfly or mosquito season! The program will go ahead rain or shine (in the event of dangerous conditions we will contact all registered participants).

We recommend clothing you won't mind getting dirty. You'll be working with wood, hand tools, and wood oil and that tends to get a bit messy.

Safety equipment for use during the event, including safety glasses, work gloves, aprons, and earplugs will be available on site for your use.

We'll provide a delicious light snack of locally sourced fare at the end of the workshop to wrap up the afternoon. You might consider having lunch before arriving or packing a snack to bring with you. Please bring your own mug and full water bottle.

A few other things to consider

This event is for adults (18+).

Prior experience with tools is not required - we’ll guide you through everything.

Parking for a few cars is available in front of the shop. If all spots are full, parking is allowed on the side street across the road. Please don’t park on the highway or sidewalks.

Prior to the program we'll send you last-minute details and a waiver form. Please read, print, sign the waiver, and bring it with you. If you don’t have access to a printer, please read it anyway. We'll have a copy for you to sign on arrival.

Be prepared for a relaxing yet engaging experience as we connect with nature, history, and creativity!
